Lake Lungern Switzerland

Lake Lungern is a tiny natural lake in Obwalden, Switzerland which is named after the town Lungern on its shore. The lake is come out from the Sarner Aa river, which runs through the Sarnersee and into Lake Lucerne.

The lake was initially much larger, and covered a huge part of the valley it is situated in. Starting in 1836, its level was dropped by 36 meters through an artificial drainage bridge of 380 m length. It is expended as reservoir.
